The GTA suburbs are exponentially urbanizing, by rapidly creating their own bustling downtown cores outside Downtown Toronto.

Oakville is incredibly good at this, with its continuous ambition to grow and expand as an urban centre. This is plain to see with the new development of a new community headed to the city by Distrikt Developments. Distrikt Trailside Condos is a new condominium project which will stand at 407 Dundas Street West in Oakville.

Amenities
This new condo development boasts an expansive 5.5 acre site, comprised of a wide variety of unit types. The two tower project is projected to house around 700 residential units: condos, lofts and towns. The first project to the west at 407 Dundas St W – block 1 is comprised of 228 units in a 10-storey condo tower, 36 back to back townhouse units, and 17 three-story townhomes. To the east at 393 Dundas St W – building A will be a 10 storey tower with 290 residential units.

The towers will also be mixed use, with almost 4,200 square feet of commercial space at ground level. Designed by Kirkor Architects it will boast an incredibly modern exterior aesthetic, with the building standing 10 storeys. Complete with glass panelling and expansive windows and stunning balconies, this is the modern, minimalist addition Oakville constantly seems to be attracting. However, its grandiose stature makes it stand apart from the city’s other structures.

It’s innovative design has it made it so that it steps down to 8 and then 6 storeys at the structure’s north end. This does an appealing job of breaking up the building to help it look seamless with the additional townhome units. The townhomes will stand 3 storeys tall.

Residents of the condo tower and stacked townhomes will have access to parking in an underground garage. This luxurious and ambitious project will have a total of 753 parking spots. For the west tower a total of 356 parking spaces will be made available, with 258 for the condo building and 36 allocated for stacked town home residents. There will be 12 parking spaces allocated for retail visitors, and 50 for residential visitors.

Location & Neighborhood
Placed on the north side of Dundas Street West, and nestled between Neyagawa Blvd. & George Savage Blvd, this site boasts an incredibly central location in this urban suburb. Dundas Street is one of the city’s major artery roads, and is projected to make use of the upcoming Oakville bus rapid transit service.

The transit options from this location vary, as you can opt to take the 5 – Dundas bus route to Oakville’s Station, or make the short drive to the central terminal. The city in general is pretty well served by major routes. It boasts great access to the QEW and Highway 407 for trips going east and west, and trips going north and south are made easy by proximity to Highway 403.

Commuters in this area will also enjoy Oakville’s two GO Stations — Bronte Station and Oakville Station. The later is a mere 11 minute drive away, and doable 30 minute bus ride from the well placed development.

Travel is a key reason why Oakville is perfect for young professionals settling down to make roots for a family. This access to the city means working 9 to 5 in the Downtown core and being home by dinner extremely doable. After all, there really is something to be said about working in a career hub like Toronto’s Financial District or Entertainment District, then returning home to a waterfront suburb that provides some serenity after a day immersed in the dynamic hustle and bustle of the city.

Families will also be able to make use of the general scenic nature of the city, as the project is close to parks like Harman Gate Park, Neyagawa Park and Oak Park. Plus, the waterfront trail is perfect for familial adventures strolling or bike riding. The Oakville Harbour is a stunning waterfront that provides a calming and luxurious energy to the urbanizing city.

But, Oakville isn’t only scenic views — it also has other local amenities like the central mall, Oakville Place, just 10 minutes from the development. The mall boasts retailers like H&M, The Bay, and Sephora. It also is home to a location of the fine food grocery market Pusateri’s.

It is the perfect time to invest in Oakville Real Estate, as more and more people are flocking to the dynamic city with incredible access to Downtown Toronto, that is also removed from the core.
